Program Description
This IT career diploma is available at our Lubbock and Wichita Falls campuses. The program will teach you skills with computers and electronic components, including standard “bench technician” skills in consumerism, industrial and microprocessor (computer) repair. As a graduate, you will know all about the areas of Basic, Solid State, Digital and Microprocessor for consumer and industrial uses, as well as basic electricity and electronic circuitry. You will be able to work with digital fundamentals, logic circuits and digital-to-microprocessor conversions. You will have real-world know-how about PC-based microprocessors, computer hardware, peripheral-based memory, storage systems, printers, modems and CD-ROMs. You’ll be empowered to find excellent work as a computer support technician, computer repair technician or an electronics technician in corporate offices, small businesses, banks, large and small computer companies, and government agencies. You could also become a self-employed computer repair technician or consultant.
