Computerized Administrative Assistant

Program Description
The objective of the Administrative Assistant program is to prepare students for a variety of entry-level administrative occupations in corporate offices, small companies, and government offices as receptionists, general office clerks, first-line supervisors of administrative and office support workers, and A/R and A/P clerks.  To meet this objective, students will learn how to use computerized spreadsheets and database systems and be able to maintain presentation material using desktop publishing software.  Graduates of this program will be able to create correspondence documents using word processing software and accessing information using the Internet. Course work will consist of in-class lab and lecture and out of class homework. Homework may include special projects, reading, team projects, research, assigned reports and other activities outside of class and/or instructional hours. In-class lab and lecture and out-of-class homework will each be assigned a portion of the final course grade. Out-of-class time for the Administrative Assistant program is 180 hours.
